Scandinavian Wall Art — Norwegian Sailor in a Fisherman Beanie

“The Navigator of the North Sea” is a hand-sketched, then hand-inked artwork, placing our fisherman beanie the Westcoaster in its rightful habitat — the stormy Norwegian West Coast sea. We offer it in the original hand inked minimalist style, or in full digital color (also colored manually and with meticulous care for attention, of course, but on a computer).

It is printed on A3 sized, high quality 250 gram watercolor paper. The product is only the print without a frame.

The Story of the Norwegian Sailor

The artwork, which I commissioned and artist to bring to life, was something that had lived in my mind a long time. A vision brought to life from old memories of old Scandinavian sea-art, combined with a love for hard pen lines, and embellished by our photoshoots for our own Westcoaster fisherman beanie.

On the wild waves outside the Norwegian West Coast, the navigator locks the vague fog-wreathed shape of land with his eye. He grabs the helm and holds her steady, thinking about his family waiting for him at home.
